Smalley WaveRings®
WaveRings are two-turn Spirolox® Retaining Rings with an axial waveform. These rings function similarly to a traditional retaining ring (providing a removable shoulder), but when installed, they offer a spring force that applies pressure against both the groove wall and the assembly components. This spring force compensates for tolerance stack-up or play.
Designed to fit into the groove. WaveRings exerts pressure in two directions: on the groove wall and on the mounting elements. Single, double or multiple rotations of the WaveRing are possible, as well as a choice of materials, including our standard 17-7 PH stainless steel and carbon steel.
